I was dead...

When finally the time has come
For me to lay my life,
I will not beg another day
To live before I die.

If in my sleep, before I wake,
My eyes stay in the dark,
I'll rest in peace, for on this world
I've made my little mark.

And if in violence to protect
The ones I dearly love,
I did not die by my own strength,
But power from above.

Whatever fate that I may face,
I pray for bravery
To stand firm in the promises
The savior gave to me.

...and behold...

My family will miss me so,
And for a little while,
I'll miss them while they stay on earth,
Before we're reconciled.

The girl I love, the greatest gift
My Father gave to me,
I'll pray that she draws close to Him
Who loves more perfectly.

My brothers and my sisters all
Have lives to persevere.
But still I hope my memory
Will give their spirits cheer.

The friends I interceded for
To know Christ as their Lord,
I trust to Him whose sovereignty
Flows from His holy word.

...I am...

This present life that I perceive
Is not the only one.
I face no hopelessness, for I
Have life inside the Son.

Although the struggles of this life
Do make my vision dim,
I know with utter confidence
My future is with Him.

So when I wake and see the light
That shines as bright as day.
My Jesus, God and Savior Lord,
Will pick me up and say:

I am your Friend, the Living One,
The one that you adore.
For I was dead, and now I AM

"My Jesus, God and Savior Lord"

But... Jesus is the Son of God, not the Father Himself. :(
