A Warrior's Helför

The corpse-dew clings stubbornly to my clothes, flowing freely from my head.

An arrow fired from afar has hit its mark; Today I shall soon be dead.

Before my eyes roll back in their sockets, I look up into the cloudless sky.

Riding through the air like wayward rockets, I see the fabled Valkyrjar fly.

Those divine choosers of the slain, they fly so swiftly through the air!

Though their spears are drenched in blood, their beauty is beyond compare.

My body laid still-warm in the dirt, my flesh giving the ravens their rightful share.

Taking me in her arms, I am held tightly by one with braided locks of golden hair.

To despair is to change, to change is to influenceYou hold much more influence
Than you can ever realise...
Said the passer by to the poet.
But if the poet was so wise
Then why does he despair to the skies
With his pen every night?
To set things right.
He decided.

Twists of KarmaPampered, pretty, skinny, spoiled
A princess in her castle of fear
Holds all other's plans faux and foiled

Struts her feathers in others faces
She's headed straight for hell
Steps on them with different clothes from different races

She's lost in herself
She lays in her mounds of riches
We will see how she stands in front of God himself

Breaking other's hearts, tearing out their souls
Snapping their bones, killing their spirit
Using them as mindless tools

Someday she will find herself dead
And then where will she be?
She won't be in heaven, she'll be lying in her bed

Fireno matter what life may bring your way,
just keep your head held high,
no matter the things that others say,
reach up towards the sky,
hold out until the break of day,
and never wonder why,
no matter what they may,
tread on swiftly through the fray,
with fire in your eye

Litha (Midsummer)Sun stands still like a forge blazing in the heavens
The colours of fields and flowers woven out of its light
Where sea meets sky a heat haze hangs on the horizon
Teasing with glimpses of faeries flying just out of sight

The sun rises strong, but knows its strengths fading
The Horned One accepts His own death with His crown
For from now on till rebirth, the Sun God is waning
To the life of the land the life of the God has been bound

So jump the bonfire and burn away evil
Carry a torch in procession and bless land and home
Gather the garlands and deck all with flowers
Celebrate beauty for its sake alone

Sing of Midsummer's wonder in play

Where are we fromIt makes me wonder of what we are,
stardust i heard, children of god.

Oblivous creations, accidents on a rod,
is perhaps god carrying a shirt.

On it a saying, i made humanity
and this is all i got.

don't look into the shadows eyesdon't look into the shadows eyes,
or reach out and try to touch it.
for the dark thing is making ties,
thinking you don't want to love it.

he'll glare at you with eyes dark red,
and smile 'till his grin is full.
run for he'll be quickly fed,
feasting on your soul.

so say goodbye to all your best friends,
and say it to your family.
little do they know of your desperate feeble end,
fighting, struggling, yearning to be free.

the shadow consumes you, loving your intense fear,
into the shadow, you will sink, until there's nothing left.
your life and existence, slowly starting to disappear,
and nobody will know of this untimely theft.

This Is How I PrayI wear a mask because I have no face.
I’ve always dropped out of every race.
I am a quitter and a sinner and I’m broken.
I feel so hollow from every word I have spoken.

I’ve been so lonely for so long.
I’m ready to sing my Swan Song.
Every time I fall asleep, I die.
I am whipped and scorned for asking, “Why?”

Where is my God? Does He hear me?
Why can’t I see Him? Why does He hate me?
To answer my challenge,
He planted this thought in my mind:

I am a rose.
Fragrant and precious,
I am cursed with
An army of thorns.
I am a rose.
Too easy to cut down
And be used just to please
Somebody else.

Where is GOD?Everywhere I look
Points me again
To someone who saves,
To YOUR healing hand.
And though sometimes
I can’t see YOU here,
I know YOU are with me
And YOU’re always near.
I searched so long
For the joy YOU bring.
Now, my soul is longing
To get up and sing!
Here am I to worship
YOU, who saves!

YOU everlasting praise!
Though doubt consumes me sometimes

Because I am told to walk by faith
And let my faith show.

With a longing I can’t explain,
But I’m refusing all your chances
To heal and brake the chains.
In darkness do I lie,
Sinking deep in sin.

When pain am I in.
I’ve lost all my focus.

Secret Riteswe're not going dancing in the moonlight,
we're not building a bonfire high,
we're not daring the stars to fall,
we're not praying at an altar's lies,

we're not wishing for something more,
we're not hoping for something less;
we're just going to keep doing what we can,
and not settle for second best.

we're not denying you did your best,
we're not refuting your hard work,

we're not treating you like a jerk,

A Path Once TakenI have taken many paths
That lead to many places.
They, of course, have many destinations.
I see, behind me, a path once taken
That broke my heart and burned my soul.
It is a poisoned cup,
Of which I drank many times.
Where did it leave me?
Broken.
This path once taken
Has left me dry and achin’
And yearning for love so desired.
I try to avoid the path,
But it appears again at last
And I am not too fast,
For I am tired..
The lust that consumes my soul
Has at last taken its toll
And left me more broken than before.
Where can I be refilled
So that I may be still
In this place that’s made to steal
And recreate your soul?

Shedding many tears,
Not without my fears,
But seeking it yet again.

Light Swiftly FadingThe world today
Encourages many things,
And with all the confusion
Comes many stings.
Can a Christian stand it?
Well, not alone.
With Jesus you can make it,
Tho’ you’ll reap what you have sown.
The darkness flooding in
Leaves little room to breathe.
The flame that shone so brightly
Is almost gonna freeze!
Can we Christians save it;
Bringing back the light.
If we give our lives to Jesus,
We’ll make it shine real bright!
If we stand by praying,
With Jesus we’ll be strong!
Then, the light will shine brightly
And we’ll sing life’s song!

Letter a DiscipleHow are you, son? It's been a while
since I've heard from you, with that, I write
to ask how you do and where you are
and try to connect with your distant heart.

It's been a while since the day you left,
to be honest, till now, this hurt I've kept
from your betrayal have yet to mend.
So I'll be transparent with you, my friend.

Now I'll tell a tale to express what's within,
to let you know what I've been hiding;
to let you know how it grieves me so,
in hopes you'll realize and come back home.

Even before, in the spirit, you were born
in my womb, I conceived you as my own.
In prayer I travailed for God to move
and indeed His promises, throug

I Need SleepIf I could write the weariness I feel
Into a blur of mishing-mashing lines,
I could not hope to separate the real
From floaters in my slowly fading eyes.
My arms are weak, my muscles fully slack
With profound numbness past that feeling point
Where consciousness begins. In holding back
No healing comes to brains spilled, out of joint.
Though all my matter raves delirious,

When years pass by and separate our ways,
Would I stay jealous for my sisters' sake?
That none of you should ever fall astray
As Eve was, tempted by that cunning snake!
When joyously I see each of you wed,
I'll pray that you be further sanctified
By Him who to redeem you freely bled
And called you each his own beloved bride:
In jealousy I pray most zealously.

I'm a day behind for FSC, but I hope to be caught up soon. This is a sonnet petit for #Crowns-of-Sonnets' February Sonnet Challenge. Written with the sisters in my ministry in mind, as well as 2 Corinthians 11:2-3:

"I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ."

Many stage performers have said it, "Leave them wanting more..." You've succeeded. You've managed to pull in the scripture quite well also. The line, "Would I stay jealous for my sisters' sake?" ,made me pause and contemplate. I'd love for this to be longer but you've got contest rules to consider. Perhaps a revision is in the future?!?
